Help to Grow: Management is a practical 12-week leadership and business development programme designed to help established SME leaders strengthen their leadership skills, improve business performance and develop a clear growth plan.

We’re exploring the opportunity to bring the programme to Cumbria and are inviting eligible local businesses to register their interest.

What could Help to Grow do for your business?

Running and growing a business brings plenty of challenges. Help to Grow: Management gives you the time, tools and expert support to step back from the day-to-day, look at where your business is heading and put practical plans in place to move it forward.

The programme includes:

• Practical business and leadership support: Learn tools, knowledge and approaches you can apply directly to your business.
• 10 hours of one-to-one mentoring: Expert guidance: Work with an experienced mentor on your own business challenges, priorities and ambitions.
• Peer learning with other SME leaders: Learn alongside other business leaders, sharing experiences, ideas and solutions.
• A practical Growth Action Plan: Turn what you learn into practical actions that can make a real difference to your business.

90% subsidised by the UK Government

Help to Grow: Management is 90% subsidised by the UK Government, with eligible participants paying £750 per person for the 12-week programme.

Is your business eligible?

This programme is designed for senior leaders and decision-makers within established SMEs.

Your business must:

• Have a senior decision-maker participating in the programme who is responsible for managing people
• Be based in the UK
• Employ between 5 and 249 people
• Have been operating for at least 12 months

What is Help To Grow: Management?

Over 12 weeks, you'll have the opportunity to step away from the day-to-day demands of running your business and focus on the bigger picture.

You'll learn from experienced business experts, work through your own business challenges, exchange ideas with other SME leaders and receive dedicated one-to-one mentoring.

Practical learning:

Explore key areas of leadership and business development, including:

• Leadership and team development
• Business strategy and planning
• Operations and productivity
• Marketing and customer engagement
• Financial management
• Innovation and digital transformation
• Building a resilient and sustainable business

You'll have 10 hours of dedicated mentoring to focus on the issues that matter most to your business.

Learn with other business leaders:

You won't be learning in isolation. You'll meet other SME owners, directors and senior managers, giving you the opportunity to:

• Exchange ideas
• Learn from different perspectives
• Build connections with other business leaders

Create a Growth Action Plan

The programme is designed to help you move from ideas to action.

You'll develop a Growth Action Plan tailored to your business, helping you identify your priorities and decide what you want to do next.
